FAQ
💳 When Do I Pay My Driving Instructor?
Weekly Driving Lessons
When booking your weekly driving lessons through Londoninstructor, you’ll only need to pay a small deposit online. This deposit covers any tests or additional training you select during booking.
The remaining balance for your lessons is paid directly to your instructor on a pay-as-you-go basis — either just before or immediately after each lesson.
Intensive Driving Courses
For intensive courses, a deposit is paid online at the time of booking. This includes any tests or add-on training options you choose.
Because these courses are delivered over a short and focused time period (typically 1–2 weeks), most instructors will require the full remaining payment in advance — either on your first lesson or as soon as your sessions are scheduled. This helps instructors reserve large blocks of time in their diaries just for you.

❓ How Soon Will My Driving Test Be Booked?
The timing of your test booking depends on your individual circumstances:
If you include a theory test in your booking, you'll be able to choose your preferred date during the process. The earliest available dates are typically around 2 weeks from booking.
If you've already passed your theory test and only need a practical driving test, the fastest possible lead time is around 5 weeks. On average, most of our students secure a test date within 8–12 weeks, which is up to 75% faster than searching for a test on your own.

Practical retest availability usually falls between 5 to 12 weeks

❓ What if I'm not ready at the end of my course — can I book extra lessons?
Absolutely — if you feel you need more practice after completing your course, you can easily arrange additional lessons directly with your instructor.
That said, we always recommend booking a course with enough hours from the start to give yourself the best chance of passing first time. Leaving it too late could mean struggling to find availability for extra lessons just before your test.
When booking online, our system will guide you based on your previous driving experience, helping you choose the most suitable course to match your current skill level.
